Geographic Information Systems
 
The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Certificate at Shasta College provides students the skills needed to apply GIS technology to a variety of applications. Students will develop foundation skills in computer usage and map fundamentals. From this foundation GIS fundamentals will be taught, both in conceptual and practical terms. The application of GIS to various problems will be emphasized. All students will work on real world projects. Related technologies, such as global positioning systems (GPS)
and image analysis will be introduced.
