Vision Statement
The Agriculture and Natural Resources Department is the leader in providing
a student-centered, interactive and practical learning experience to all
students in the fields of Agriculture, Natural Resources, Horticulture, and
Environmental Technology. Our dedicated faculty and staff provide relevant,
up-to-date educational experiences through classroom and laboratory
instruction, student projects and industry internships. Across all programs
we emphasize best practice techniques related to resources and the
environment. Our graduates are in demand by employers, communities and
universities because of their hands-on training and knowledge of the working
world, their understanding of societies and multi-cultural values, and their
dedication to sustainable communities.
Introduction
As the above vision statement explains, the programs in this department are
dedicated to providing up-to-date, cutting edge instruction using a variety
of delivery systems, emphasizing the hands-on approach. These technical
programs prepare graduates for immediate employment in the field as well as
for transfer into university programs. Substantial revision are currently
being made to the Natural Resources, Veterinary Technology, Equine Science,
and Equipment Operations programs in an effort to keep up with changes in
the fields. From these changes, which should be in place by Fall 2003, we
will be offering a new AS degree and certificate in Veterinary Technology
and a new certificate in Watershed Restoration. We are excited about the
changes and remain dedicated to providing the vest quality instruction in
preparing students for employment and transfer. If you need more information
than what you can find in the following pages, please contact the
appropriate faculty member.
