SAFE WALK ESCORT SERVICES
The Security Department provides safe walk escort
services to and from parking lots upon request.
Contact the Security Department at 225-4631 or use a blue phone to
request an escort.

STARTS and LOCK OUTS
Security and Parking personnel
provide assistance for vehicles with dead batteries and for vehicles with the
keys locked in them. We can't provide assistance for vehicles with electronic
door locks. For assistance Security personnel can be reached in room 5015, or
by calling
225-4699, 225-4631 or by using a blue phone.
PARKING INFORMATION
Shasta College requires the payment of parking fees to park on campus. Fees
collected are designated for the operation, maintenance, and control of
existing parking lots as well as construction of new parking areas. If
you have a parking question or question about a citation please call
225-4699. We ask that you do not use blue security phones for
parking related issues.
DAILY PARKING INFORMATION
All student and staff lots will be
enforced during the fall, spring or summer semesters. These lots are enforced
Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM and Friday from 8:00 AM to
5:00 PM when school is in session. A semester parking permit can be purchased
in the Shasta College Business Office for $25.00-Fall and Spring, or $7.50
for Summer session. A daily permit can be purchased for $1.00 from the red
and yellow parking permit dispensers located in the student parking lots.
These permits do not allow a vehicle to park in the metered, carpool, staff,
or dorm parking areas. A staff parking permit can be obtained from the
Personnel Office in the 100 building.

CARPOOL PARKING AREAS
Carpool parking requires 2 or more
students per vehicle. A carpool permit may be obtained free of charge from
the Security Office in room 5015. In order for the carpool permit to be valid
it must be accompanied by a student permit.
STAFF PARKING AREAS
Staff and Metered parking areas are
enforced from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM Monday through Thursday and from 8:00 AM to
5:00 PM on Friday. Staff may obtain a parking permit from the Personnel
Office in the 100 building. Staff permits do not allow a vehicle to be parked
in the meter, dorm, carpool, or excess of timed visitor parking areas.
NOTE: STAFF PERMITS EXPIRE SEPTEMBER 1, 2008.
DORMITORY PARKING AREAS
Dormitory parking lots are enforced from
8:00 AM to 10:00 PM Monday through Thursday and from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Friday.
Dormitory Residents may obtain parking permits from the Coordinator of
Student Housing. Dormitory permits do no allow a vehicle to be parked in the
metered, carpool, staff, student, or excess of timed visitor parking areas.
VISITOR PARKING PERMITS
Visitor parking permits can be obtained
from the Personnel Department or from individual departments. These permits
are valid in the student and staff lots for a maximum of two days, however, they are not valid in the metered areas or
excess of timed visitor parking spaces.
HANDICAPPED, RED ZONE and UNAUTHORIZED
PARKING AREAS
Parking regulations for these areas are in
effect 24 hours, 7 days a week. Parking in
designated handicapped parking spaces which are marked in blue and by
signage, is for the exclusive use of drivers who display appropriate license
plates or placards which are solely issued by the Department of Motor
Vehicles. A parking citation fine is $15.00. A parking fine in the
Handicapped areas is $275.00. Parking regulations are given to each
student with his/her registration packet. If you wish to appeal a parking
violation, print and fill out an "Initial Administrative Review" form off of the web site and return it to
the Information desk in the 100 building. (The full instructions are at the
bottom of the form). A full set of regulations can be obtained from the
Security Office in room 5015.
