Master Gardeners are volunteers trained to
answer local gardeners questions relating to plants, pests, gardening and
more.
These volunteers must complete a training
course taught by Shasta College Horticulture Instructors using University of
California training materials and then complete 50 additional hours
answering local gardeners questions before they are certified.
Master Gardeners are trained to use science
based information based on research done by the University of California
when answering questions.
