Welcome to my homepage: www3.shastsacollege.edu/scarter My trademark or favorite symbol is the photo of the Sawtooth Range and inspirational view of the Trinity Alps of Northern California, located within the Shasta Community College District.

I have been teaching American government and history at Shasta College for the past 31 years.  I currently teach four sections of American Government and two sections of American History.  You may access all of my course syllabi below.

My homepage acts primarily as "classroom central" for my students enrolled in my American Government classes.  For this course students are able to access their web-based research and textbook materials, including important handouts which assist the student in studying the issues outlined in the text book.

For the online course in American Government I have incorporated additional web-pages from the publisher of my selected textbook, McGraw Hill.  Students can switch to and from this site with my course materials found on the Page Out website.

Since Political Science II (American government) is a requirement for many degree programs and the California Teaching Credential, the course can be taken on-line by those students who have access to a computer and have a certain competency in computer skills.
