Welcome to the Casino Management department.  The casino and gaming industry is growing at a rapid rate worldwide.  The Casino Management department here at Shasta College is addressing this need and will prepare students for lucrative careers in this exciting field. 

            The Casino Management courses will be taught in room 1419 of the Downtown Redding Mall complex.  The courses are offered in the evening in order to accommodate those people working day jobs.  An introduction to casino operations, a history of gaming course, and three-unit course in casino management techniques shall be offered in the Spring of 2002. 

            Students entering the casino management program will enjoy the benefits of a casino “lab” which is located inside of the classroom. The gaming lab will serve as a training tool for students as well as offer them a hands-on and interactive approach to the casino games.  Gaming terminology, money management techniques, gaming laws and regulations, employee-employer relationships, and possible career paths will be also be discussed during classroom hours.
