Bus Driver Training

 

COURSE OFFERINGS

The below courses are typically offered once in the Fall semester and once in the Spring semester.  For exact dates, please check the class schedule.


PUBS 158   School Bus Driver Training - 2 Units (CR/NC Option)  Class Hours:  36 lecture total

The purpose of this course is to acquaint students with all the laws, regulations, and operational procedures involved in becoming a licensed school bus driver in California.  This course meets a state mandated classroom training requirement which a student must complete prior to taking highway patrol tests and doing behind-the-wheel training.  This course does not include individual behind-the-wheel training, but will acquaint the student with laws and procedures pertaining to the correct operation of a school bus.


PUBS 159   School Bus Driver Training Refresher - .5 unit (CR/NC Option)  Class Hours:  10 lecture total

This course is a brief over-view of all the areas of bus driver licensing, school bus operation use and regulations, defensive driving, and student loading and unloading procedures.
