Welcome to our Public Safety Web Page. We are very proud
of the level of instruction and training that we can offer every student
here at Shasta College.
The Administration of Justice
program under the direction of Dave Wright offers an Associate of Arts
degree that is “state of the art” in preparing students to enter the law
enforcement profession. We are also very proud to offer the Modular Levels
1, 2, & 3 program that will allow students to become POST certified as peace
officers.
Our Fire Technology and
Fire Academy, and Emergency
Medical Services programs are also very highly respected
throughout the state of California and nationally. Under the direction of
Chief Art Cota, our academy cadet s are given the finest training available
anywhere. After completion of the Academy our graduates have the unique
opportunity to work as volunteer fire fighters at our own full service fire
station, located on the Shasta College campus. We are one of only two
community college campuses that operate a fire station. We have an “Amador”
agreement with the CDF that puts a full time Captain and Engineer working
out of our station from October to May "twenty-four/seven". This is
tremendous training opportunity for our academy graduates.
With the events of September 11, 2001, we all know how
important our public safety personnel can be. There is no more respected or
more valued profession to choose. We are very anxious to have you come and
join our Shasta College Public Safety Team.
