bullet14.3 Group Project on Rogerian Argument:  Research and plan your group presentations today -- see who can teach us about this kind of argument with the most ZING!  Reminder:  bring a disk or a flash drive to save your presentation (if needed) so we can show it on the overhead.

bullet15.1:  Write a comprehensive paragraph about your research paper topic.  It should include a spiffy title, your thesis statement and three main points you plan to discuss in the paper.  20 points.  Turn this in after completing the topic discussion.
bullet15.2 Pitch your topic:  Then discuss your topic with your peers and see if it will "fly."   (Consider doing some outlining and prewriting, and keeping this material in a Research Notebook, which is discussed in your text.)  Topic discussion: 20 points.

14.1. Library Assignment Results:

ëUsing or recreating the search you did on Monday create a Working Bibliography for your research paper.  Use correct MLA style. You should have at least four entries, but of course you need to expand your research further to write your paper.

Remember, you're not stuck with this topic until Wednesday.  But right now, work diligently as though this IS the topic you'll stay with.

 
bulletPrint out, read "Letter From Birmingham Jail," and analyze how King used the Rogerian argument style found on page 483 of your text.  Show evidence from the "letter" to support your analysis, present this all in essay style.  This should be typewritten, and bring King's letter to class.  Rogerian Argument

Due on Wednesday:

bulletWrite a paragraph:  You should have considered your topic and claim well enough that today you can write (without notes) a paragraph about your plans for the paper.  You should have some specific judgments and details to offer about your paper.  Topic paragraph, 20 points.
