If you are
considering a career in nursing, the NA/HHA Program provides an excellent
opportunity to gain an entry level job in nursing and or take the first step
on the nursing career ladder. You will be introduced to fundamental nursing
skills and have the opportunity to practice these skills in a variety of
health care settings. Patient care skills routinely performed by the nurse
aide or home health aide include personal hygiene and grooming, assisting
with nutritional needs, elimination needs, mobility and measurements such as
vital signs, intake/output, height and weight.
The demand for
Certified Nurse Aides and Home Health Aides locally and throughout the state
remains great. Occupational projections, produced by the Employment
Development Department of Labor Market Information division, 1998-2008,
indicate a projected growth of 21.9%.
