The History of Shasta County Law
Enforcement
1850s thru 1970s - Badges, patches, handcuffs,
photos of both law enforcement officers and criminals (mug shots), and
lots more. Most items are from the private collection of Redding
resident John Moffett, a western and law enforcement historian, on loan
to the museum.
February 28th -
A Dam Afternoon
Enjoy a rare
silent documentary film on the construction of Shasta Dam, followed by a
slide presentation. Saturday, 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Fact-filled handouts
will be provided. Sponsored by Community Education and presented by
Dottie Smith. $15 per person or $25 per couple. Call 225-4835 to sign

March 16th - April 22nd - Straight
from the Heart (Annual Quilt Show) -
We have different quilts each year and always more quilts than we have
room to display. Quilts are on loan from local quilters and quilt
lovers. This exhibit will make you feel warm and cuddly and want to go
home and snuggle up in a quilt -- or even make one! Exhibit is held at
the Shasta College Museum on campus, contact Dottie Smith for more

April 3rd & 4th -
Antique Tractor Show and
Open House
Saturday and Sunday, 10:00am to 4:00pm - Back by popular demand -- a
2-day event this time. See a wide array of antique tractors, two tractor
parades each day, hayrides to the campus farm, open house at the museum
with the quilt show, and talks and a slide presentation by Dave DuBose
on local historic ranching and agriculture. Food for sale and free
souvenirs. Exhibit is held at the Shasta College Museum on campus,

The museum is open to the public from 10:00am to 2:00pm on Tuesday's,
Wednesday's, and Thursday's, or by appointment.
