This on-line course is designed to help the student gain an understanding of stocks, bonds, and other securities. Students will be encouraged to develop their own investment philosophy based on an understanding of the securities market and methods of analyzing that market. Recommended for students wanting an understanding of how businesses raise capital in the securities market. The student will develop a hypothetical personal investment portfolio, which will be tracked with the assistance of a web-based monitoring system.

The text for the course will be "Investments - Analysis and Management" by Charles P. Jones. We will be using the 9th edition. The ISBN number is 0-471-45666-7. It will be available at the bookstore.

This class will be taught in the Spring 2006 Semester and is listed in the Schedule of Classes. The Section Number is S5657.
