Purgatory

My eyes wander,
and I catch a glance
A moonlit glimpse
will not suffice
As my eyes return,
they are met by your own
The crimson
current within my veins quickens
As I wonder who
would be so lucky…
I search
fruitlessly for a way to display my wit
To showcase my
charm
But I see it in
your eyes
It’s not
necessary; it would be detrimental
If anything at all
I am a book with
both covers touching the sheets
Your spine is
arched as well
And as my finger
runs down the page
Metaphors subside
to simple truths
It becomes evident
Neither of us is a
difficult read
The pristine beach
pales
As the sun strikes
your hair
You unveil a smile
That defies
description
As your eyes
glisten
In ways the ocean
never could
The intricacy of
your every perfection
Portrays your
radiance
Against a pale and
jealous background
No language
contains the words
To adequately
convey
The way I feel
When you’re with
me
The gentle
flickering only heightens my anticipation
For each second
where I cannot see you fully
Makes illumination
infinitely more sublime
As your tender
sapphires melt into mine
Much as the ocean
does with the very sand upon which we sit
Bliss sets in, for
it is indeed the most exquisite of all tortures
As this moment,
much as any other must conclude.
