Tuesday, 10/28/08:  For today's class, the final draft of Essay #2 is due.  We will have a brief class meeting previewing the next section.

Thursday, 10/30/08:  For today's class, read in Writing from Sources:  "Evaluating Sources" (359-379).  This section introduces important concepts that we will be using for Essay #3.

Tuesday, 11/4/08:  For today's class, read in Fast Food Nation: Chapters 8-9 (169-222).  Be prepared for a short reading quiz at the start of class.  We will also cover the use of library databases for Essay #3.

Thursday, 11/6/08:  We will not meet for class today.  Instead, you will need to sign up for an individual conference with me in my office (room 920).  Bring the sources that you wish to use for Essay #3.  A sign-up sheet is posted on my office door.

Tuesday, 11/11/08:  No class meeting today.  Individual conferences continue.

Thursday, 11/13/08:  For today's class, we will work on MLA documentation for Essay #3.  At the end of class, we will have an MLA documentation quiz that will test your ability to do this correctly.  The quiz is open-book, so you will want to bring your Writer's Reference or comparable reference guide to MLA documentation.

Tuesday, 11/18/08:  For today's class, the final draft of Essay #3 is due.  Make sure you submit a copy to Turnitin as well.

Thursday, 11/20/08:  For today's class, read in Fast Food Nation:  Chapter 10 and Epilogue (225-270).  We'll have a short reading quiz at the start of class, and then we'll cover the requirements for Essay #4.

Tuesday, 11/25/08, and Thursday, 11/27/08:  We will be meeting for class this week because of the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Weeks 16-17 (12/1/08-12/12/08):  Individual conferences.  There's a sign-up sheet posted on my office door (room 920).
