The mission
of the Division for Language Arts and Social Sciences is
to work with students to broaden their knowledge,
increase their ability to reason clearly and
critically, improve their reading and writing skills,
and help them evaluate the impact of technology on
their lives. Courses are designed to increase
understanding and appreciation of the human mind, of
the social world, and of history, philosophy, politics,
literature, languages, and other expressions of
culture, emphasizing the richness and variety of these
expressions.
