Diet Project Assignment

Instruction

This assignment is an attempt to help you identify areas in your diet where specific nutrients are lacking or perhaps where over consumption of certain “empty calorie” foods are occurring.  The following are the guidelines that must be followed in order for you to receive full credit for this assignment.

  1. You must choose 3 days for this assignment

    1. A day from either a MWF

    2. A day from either a T or TH

    3. A day from either a Sat or Sun

  2. All charts must be filled out completely with ALL FOODS EATEN AND BEVERAGES DRUNK.  The nutritional composition of the foods you have eaten is found in the food composition table in the back of your textbook (Appendix A).  You may also use the diet analysis software, “Diet Analysis Plus”.  It is important to write down your “hunger rate” right next to the food items. Use the following example and create more if necessary.

V: very hungry

H: hungry

N: not hungry

F: full

B: bored

S: stressed

  1. The daily totals of all nutrients and calories consumed need to be listed at the bottom of the page where nutrients are logged.

  2. Fill out the Analysis of Dietary Intake, which is attached to this assignment and consists of three pages.

  3. Submit the charts and your Analysis of Dietary Intake by the due date.
