ADMISSIONS
Applying to Shasta College is very easy to do! You
must complete our international student application packet and
submit some additional information. You may download our student
application (you must have Acrobat Reader or connect to your PDF
file to read this) or request a paper application. Click here to

received your completed application and you have met all the
necessary requirements, we will process your acceptance and send
your acceptance documentation by mail. Please refer to the most

1. When should I apply for Admissions?
International students can apply and enroll at Shasta College two
times during the year (Fall and Spring). All documents for admission
must be submitted by the following deadlines:
Fall Semester June 1 Classes begin mid August
Spring Semester November 1 Classes begin late January
2. What requirements must I meet to gain admissions?
Applicants must be able to speak, read, write, and understand
English to successfully complete college work. A recent TOEFL score
of 500 (133 on the computer version) or (45 on the internet version) is required.
You must complete the application and related forms.

3. What if I do not have a TOEFL score of 500 or higher?
You may still be accepted into Shasta College with a TOEFL score
between 450 and 500, with the stipulation that you enroll in ESL
course work and maintain full-time status (minimum of 12 units) as
per Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) regulations.
Subsequent semester placement into academic courses will be based on
ESL assessment or the TOEFL score.
4. Do you have an ESL Program?
Shasta College has an ESL Program that is offered through the
Division of Science, Language Arts and Math. Our ESL Program offers
courses that are either for credit or no credit. You can view the classes that
are offered through the ESL program office.
5. How much does Shasta College cost for international students?
Estimated expenses for one academic year. U.S. Dollar amounts below are

Tuition and fees are paid each semester (not in an annual sum). All
other expenses are paid separately.
Summer Session (optional) - There are no unit requirements. Summer
Session fees are not included in the above total.
How to Apply ~ Steps to Enroll
An international student who wants to attend Shasta College must
do the following to apply for admissions. Remember all of this
information can be found online. Shasta College has a downloadable
application that makes applying very easy (you must have Adobe
Reader or plug in to read this PDF file). All of the necessary forms
(health and financial statements) are included in this file. To view

In either case, you will be asked to provide the following
documents.
1. Complete all application documents. Originals or official copies
of the following documents must be submitted: TOEFL scores, Transcripts,
Financial Documents, Health Statement.
2. The Confidential Financial Statement must be completed and signed
by person guaranteeing payment.
3. Provide a corresponding bank letter (accompanying the
Confidential Financial Statement) indicating:
a. current account history
b. account balance
c. sponsor's ability to pay estimated annual expenses.
The account balance must reflect value in U.S. dollars at current
exchange rate and be equal to or greater than total Estimated Annual
Costs.
4. Provide evidence of an active health and accident insurance
policy before you register for the semester. You will also be
required to provide evidence that you have received all required
tests and shots before you will be admitted to Shasta College. Proof
of current Tuberculosis Test (PPD) or chest x-ray for tuberculosis will be required. If
you do not have an active health insurance policy then you will be
required to purchase a plan through the college. Information
regarding this plan will be mailed to you (upon request), if you
need to acquire this service. You may also visit the following

5. Submit the official Test for English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
score report. A minimum TOEFL
score of 500 is required for admissions into academic courses.
Students may be accepted with a TOEFL scores of below 500 with the
stipulation that they enroll in ESL course work and maintain

6. Submit official English translations of secondary and post
secondary transcripts.
7. A non-refundable $100.00 (USD) application fee must be submitted by
money order or check only. No cash (please see the "Signature Page"
once you apply).
