As I see it, our job at the Shasta College
Foundation is to “add our light to the sum of light.”
Typically foundations exist to support and enhance the college's
mission. It is my hope that this foundation will go deeper
and further and become an activist organization of not only
support, but also vitality and creativity. Education is our
calling and to that end, it is my belief that the foundation will
become a clear and powerful voice for Shasta College and education
in our community.

I am a 1974 graduate
of Shasta College and a native of Redding. I know the value of
education offered by Shasta College and wish to see it expanded
to reach more students giving them the opportunity for an
affordable higher education without leaving Redding.

Shasta College is the
most common thread that runs through the fabric of our community.
I hope I can contribute to the success of the Foundation to
support students and citizens of our home in Northern California.

Shasta College is a
grand resource for our tri-county area. I strongly believe
in the role it plays in our communities. The Shasta College
Foundation has the potential to enhance this great resource and
increase the learning opportunities for all of our citizens, young

As an educator at Shasta College, I see first hand the impact our Community College has on our students’ lives. My higher education began at a Community College, and it was there where my life changed. I am a strong believer in the roles we play throughout our lives; as both givers and receivers. It is in this role that we provide our students and our community support, encouragement, and hope. It is by this giving and receiving that our efforts and contributions to the Shasta College Foundation allow us to change the life of our students. |

I was fortunate enough to attend Shasta College, then later, return as an instructor. The college not only provided me with an outstanding education, but a wonderful career. Being a Shasta College Foundation Board member gives me an opportunity to stay involved in what I feel is one of the most important assets of our community.
