Outside Scholarships


     Below are links to various outside scholarship sites of which Shasta College Financial Aid has been made aware, and which we are posting for the benefit of our students. Please browse through the various links to determine the scholarships for which you may qualify. Please note that applications should be submitted directly to the scholarship organization. Do not submit these applications to Shasta College Financial Aid.

DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) National Society Various Many scholarships of varying requirements are offered. Please check the website to see if any of them apply to you.
Hispanic Scholarship Fund Various Many scholarships of varying requirements are offered. Please check the website to see if any of them apply to you.
Health Professions Scholarship & Loan Repayment Programs Various Many scholarships and loan repayment programs for students entering health professions.
Shasta Regional Community Foundation Various Many scholarships that are school-specific and some that are county/region wide. Please check the website to see if any of them apply to you.
National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation Various In 2008, the NRAEF Scholarships Program will award $1.7 million in scholarships to students pursuing an education in restaurant and foodservice-related studies. To see if you are eligible, please click on the link to the left.
The Orphan Foundation of America / Casey Family Scholarships 3/31/2008 Open to students under the age of 25 who have been in foster care for one consecutive year at the time of your 18th birthday or high school graduation -OR- have been adopted or taken into legal guardianship out of foster care after your 16th birthday OR have lost both parents to death before the age of 18 and not been subsequently adopted.
The McConnell Scholars Program 4/1/2008 Open to first-time freshmen or transfer juniors seeking Bachelor’s degrees at qualified four-year colleges and universities. Please see sponsor website for more details.
Redding Grange #446 (Information available in the Financial Aid Office) 4/1/2008 Open to graduate and undergraduate students who are or will be attending an accredited college and are working toward at least a two year degree.
Women's Army Corps Veterans - Nor-Cal Chapter 111  (Information available in the Financial Aid Office) 4/1/2008 Open to women veterans honorably discharged from any branch of the military, enrolled in a degree program, maintaining a C average or better and carrying a minimum of 9 units per semester.
Human Response Network Scholarship  (Information available in the Financial Aid Office) 4/1/2008 Open to high school seniors or continuing education students who are residents of Trinity County, pursuing a degree in Social Services or Early Childhood Education and planning to join the workforce in Trinity County.
Tehama County Farm Bureau Scholarships  (Information available in the Financial Aid Office) 4/1/2008 Open to graduates of Tehama county high schools in an Agricultural major/minor. For more details see application.
California Native Plant Society  (Information available in the Financial Aid Office) 4/4/2008 Open to students from Shasta College, Lassen College or College of the Siskiyous or local high school students beginning a bachelor's program full-time during the 2008-09 school year. Those studying Biological Sciences are eligible with preference given to those studying Botany.
Latinas Learning to Lead 4/5/2008 A program open to students between the ages of 17 and 22, currently enrolled in an undergraduate program who have earned a minimum of 30 semester hours by May 2008, with a minimum 2.5 GPA, who has demonstrated leadership and has a strong commitment to Latina/o issues.
ACWA Scholarships 4/11/2008 Open to students in Water Resources-related fields. Must be a California resident attending selected California colleges full time as a junior or senior during the 2008-09 academic year.
Darliene Lundberg Memorial Scholarship 4/15/2008 Open to woman who are graduates of local schools, residents of Tehama County, currently enrolled in a college or university taking upper division courses with a B average, and show financial need.
Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, Inc. 4/15/2008 Limited to undergraduate students at accredited educational/technical institutions. Please see website for further details.
"LIFE Lessons" Scholarship Program 4/18/2008 Open to college and college-bound students, ages 17-24, who have suffered the death of a parent or guardian.
Northern Hispanic Latino Coalition Scholarships 4/21/08 Open to high school students who continue their schooling by enrolling in a higher education institution pursuing a baccalaureate degree in Science, Social or Liberal Arts.
Ron Knight Memorial Scholarship 4/25/2008 Open to students who have graduated or will graduate in 2008 from a Tehama county high school. Must be pursuing a major in an agricultural or ag-related course of study with the intention of earning a Bachelor or advanced degree.
A.W. Bodine-Sunkist Memorial Scholarship (Information available in the Financial Aid Office) 4/30/2008 Open to undergraduate students from agricultural backgrounds who are in need of financial assistance to further their educations.
The McConnell Vista Program 5/1/2008 Open to students who wish to complete an AA transfer degree, AS degree or Certificate Program at College of the Siskiyous or Shasta College. Please see sponsor website for more details.
Tehama County CattleWomen's Scholarships (Information available in the Financial Aid Office) 5/1/2008 Two scholarships open to Tehama county residents or graduates of a Tehama County high school who will be a full-time sophomore or above during Fall 2008. One scholarship is for Agricultural-related majors and one is for Non-Agricultural majors who are from families involved in agriculture..
Chicks Who Click Scholarship 5/1/2008 Open to young women between the ages of 17 and 20 who will be attending a community college Fall 2008 and who is intent on pursuing a degree or career in communications, journalism, new media, creative writing or women's studies
David I. Coren Memorial Scholarship Program 5/1/2008 Open to full-time students with a minimum 2.8 GPA who plans to pursue a career in the On-Site Power Generation industry.
CAPCA Scholarships 5/15/2008 Open to students who are entering or returning to college in an Agricultural- or Horticultural-related field in the Fall semester and who plan to pursue a career in Pest Management.
Glenn-Colusa Cattlewomen and Cattlemen Continuing Education Scholarship (Information available in the Financial Aid Office) 5/30/2008 Open to graduates of a Glenn or Colusa county high school who is planning a career in an Agriculture-related field, preferably with an emphasis on Beef Production and/or Beef Promotion.
The Wildlife Society (TWS) Sacramento-Shasta Chapter Scholarship Program 6/1/2008 Open to both undergraduates and graduate Wildlife students attending a college in the geographic area covered by our chapter. See website for details.
BigSun Scholarship 6/20/2008
Open to all student athletes regardless of the sport they are engaged in. The student must be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute.
Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants Scholarship 6/20/2008 Open to all high school juniors, seniors and all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution, between the ages of 16-30.
California/Nevada/Hawaii Forest Fire Council Scholarship 9/1/2008 Open to California, Nevada or Hawaii residents/students currently enrolled in a school offering wildland fire curriculum.
AES Engineering 9/15/2008 Open to motivated high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility. You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.
American Indians Scholarship 10/1/2008 Open to Native American students, who are in financial need and have a grade point average of at least 2.75.
