The Photography program at Shasta College
emphasizes the Fine Arts tradition of the medium. In studies and
darkroom work, students master the use of the camera, exposure, film
development and printing. Intermediate through advanced students
experiment with alternative techniques for expression and produce individual
projects such as the artist book.
Photo historical precedents are presented in
videotapes and slide shows and students are encouraged to visit major art
galleries and museum exhibitions.
