My work deals
specifically with the impact of deforestation, commercialization, and human
consumption on the environment. As a sculptor, my primary preoccupation is
with the interlacing, complicated and often paradoxical relationship of
nature to industrial and cultural “progress.” My sculptural constructions
are manipulated, altered, and combined forms that present my nature/culture
investigations. I tend to select and utilize materials that symbolize these
juxtapositions, and approach my subject matter intuitively, enabling the
materials to dictate the fabrication process. |
