Live interactive TV classes are taught from either the Redding campus or one of the Distance Education sites, and sent to other “receive” sites via phone lines using compressed video technology. Students are able to interact with other students and with the faculty member. All sites are capable of seeing, hearing and talking to one another. Procedures for examinations, assignments, etc. will be explained at the first class meeting.

ITV is a form of distance education that provides educational opportunities for students in locations outside of Redding.

New telecommunications technology allows courses to be taught live at the Redding campus or distant site and sent to the receiving sites via a two-way interactive means. Distant site students are able to participate in class discussions and conduct oral presentations as if they are present in the same room.

Distance delivery of traditional education improves access to classes for students who live too far from the regular college campus.
