Q:
Is EOPS part of financial aid?
A:
EOPS is not part of financial aid. However, EOPS works in
conjunction with
financial aid to
provide you with the best possible service.

Q: Do you offer any
financial assistance?
A:
Yes. We have a book service
program that allows students to purchase books
required for
their courses at the Shasta College Bookstore
in addition to a one-
time emergency loanprogram for students with a current
FAFSA
form on file.

Q: In order to qualify for EOPS, I need be 'economically and
academically disadvantaged.'
What does that mean?
A.
To determine whether you meet the "economically disadvantaged" criteria,
complete the BOGG fee waiver. To find out more about the BOGG, click
the link
http://www3.shastacollege.edu/financialaid/feewavier/main.htm. The
BOGG is also
available in the current Shasta College Schedule of Classes and at the
Financial
Aid Office.
Being "academically disadvantaged" means that you meet any one
of the
following criteria:
1.You are not qualified
to enroll into minimum level English or math courses, or
2.You do
not have a GED or high school diploma, or
3. You
graduated from high school with a grade point average below 2.5, or
4. You were
previously enrolled in remedial courses either in high school or
college, or
5. You meet one of the 'other' criteria as outlined in Title 5 of the California
Code of
Regulations.

Q: Do I need
to re-apply for EOPS every year?
A:
No. As long as you fulfill the requirements of the EOPS
Mutual Responsibility
Contract which
is explained to you
upon your acceptance into the Program, you
will remain in good standing with EOPS until you reach the 70 unit limit or
have
received EOPS services for six
consecutive semesters, or have earned an
Associates Degree, whichever comes first.
