Most engineering schools follow similar patterns in their undergraduate courses. But planning is needed to avoid the delays, requirements overlooked, or courses taken but not required. Talk with your counselor, study alternatives, and consult directly with the universities you hope to attend. University requirements vary. Initially they focus on the math and sciences, adding general ed only when convenient. Whether required or not in the engineering degrees, develop a strong computer background. Computer competence is expected at universities (like the ability to type), and computer competence is almost always required by employers. |
