Description:

Description:
Part-time (M-F) "Community Asset Outreach Specialist" service position
available with Trinity County Office of Education. The AmeriCorps
Community Outreach Specialist will provide community education and
outreach throughout Trinity County promoting afterschool programs and
the 40 Developmental Assets. The Community Outreach Specialist will
implement special projects within established afterschool programs that
build Assets in the youth served. Training will be provided.
Requirements: Must be 18 years old, have a high school diploma or
GED, and be eligible to work in the U.S. Must also be able to show proof
of CA drivers license, full coverage ins., and DMV print out. Mileage

Description:
Make A Difference in the Life of a Child Today! Part-time school day
position serving youth at North Valley High School in Anderson. The Teen
Resource Specialist (TRS) will provide general support, mentoring and
act as a role model to all students on campus with an emphasis on
pregnant and parenting teens. The TRS will assist teen families with
accessing other needed community services such as health care and
nutrition. The TRS will use the 40 Developmental Assets as a foundation
for their service with youth and plan intentional Asset building
activities and environments.
AmeriCorps members commit to serving 900 hours by June 30, 2009.
AmeriCorps TRS will receive a monthly stipend of $1200, paid twice
monthly. Upon successful completion of 900 hours, the member receives an
education award of $2362.50.
