Shasta College is participating
with 64 other community colleges in the California Early Childhood
Mentor Program, a quality improvement initiative funded by the
California Department of Education and coordinated by Chabot College.
Program Goals
Expand career ladder for early childhood professionals
Reduce teacher turnover
Improve program quality
Increase student teaching opportunities
Establish a community-based training program as a collective effort and
shared promotion of quality standards
Create opportunities for professional development
Provide mentoring opportunities and support for directors.
