Diesel Technology

 

Courses in heavy duty diesel mechanics are designed to give the student entry-level job skills. The skills obtained at Shasta College will enable a student to enter the heavy duty diesel mechanics trade.

The Diesel Technology Program prepares a student for entry into the heavy duty diesel mechanics trade. Award of specific apprenticeship credit will depend on the employer and the local union regulations, but the graduate usually will receive credit for practical fulfillment of apprenticeship requirements.
This two-year program will give you your start in the heavy duty diesel mechanics trade. Training will develop your skills in diesel engine, electrical repair, and power training. Other courses in the program teach you how to operate diagnostic equipment, repair and rebuild brake systems, repair and adjust transmissions.
