Director's Message
The dental hygiene program began in 2000
and has been one of the most highly regarded and popular programs here at Shasta
College. With the efforts of the Northern California Dental Society and
Shasta Community Health Center, the partnership has created a most professional
program, that continues to graduate highly educated and skilled licensed dental
hygienists that are quickly improving the oral health of consumers in the north
state.
The dental hygiene faculty has had
extensive education and experience which enhances the scope of student learning
in all didactic courses and clinic training. The dental hygiene clinic is open
to the community which augments the diversity of the learning arena for students
as they provide all dental hygiene services to families in the community.
As we look forward to moving into the new
Health Science Center which will be located in the Redding Downtown Mall, we
continue to provide the best education to all students entering our program.
We look forward to each new entering class
of future professionals, and working with the many new colleagues that are now
in the health care workforce.
