Construction Technology

The Construction Technology program is designed for the student interested in becoming a small business person, contractor, estimator, plan checker, etc. Construction is a continuous and universal trade. Your will participate in building projects from design to planning, to building codes, to actual hands-on skills. Entry-level job opportunities can be found in the private sector as well as the city, county, state, and federal public sector.

The Construction Technology Program offers a two-year program for students who are not only interested in a trade-level program, but also interested in fulfilling general education requirements to receive an Associate in Science Degree or fulfilling the transfer requirements to a four-year institution.

The certificate program is designed for those students who are only interested in trades and who, upon successfully completing the specific program requirements, are awarded a Certificate of Achievement.

The state of California will accept completion of schooling on a year-for-year basis for a maximum of two years of credit toward fulfilling the state requirements for a contractor's license.
