bullet Computerized Career Exploration Software: EUREKA is a computer-based exploration software programs that can help you to assess your interest, create a personal profile, and match your interest profile with careers consistent with your interests.  Counselors often refer students to another computerized career assessment called MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator) and Strong Interest Inventory.  Students pay a minimal fee for these two assessment.

bullet Catalogs: The Career & Transfer Center has catalogs for all California Community Colleges, State Universities, and Universities of California.  We also have catalogs from California private colleges, out-of-state colleges, art schools, law schools, and health-related schools.  If we do not have a hard copy, we have a subscription to College Source Online, a resource including college catalogs, websites, profiles, maps, etc.  Printing is free for transfer information.

bullet Copy Machine, Phone:  Any of the materials in the Transfer Center may be copied or printed free of charge.  A telephone is available at no cost for students to call other colleges to check on their admission or financial aid status or to speak to advisors.

bullet Individual Appointments: Students can make individual appointments to speak with a counselor regarding any questions or concerns they may have regarding the transfer process.

bullet Appointments with University Representatives: Students can make individual appointments to see representatives from potential universities.  This is a great opportunity for students to talk with a representative one-on-one concerning admission, classes, majors, financial aid, etc.  See calendar of events for appointment times.

bullet Articulation Agreements: Articulation agreements are formal agreements between two campuses. They define how courses taken at one college or university campus can be used to satisfy a subject matter requirement at another college or university campus.  Not all university campuses provide articulation with every college or for all of their majors or departments. Many university campuses concentrate on their primary feeder colleges and their most popular transfer majors.  If you are planning to transfer visit: http://www.assist.org

bullet UTRAC: (formerly University Express): The University Transfer Readiness and Completion program is designed for our motivated, academically prepared local high school seniors whose primary goal is to transfer to a CSU, UC, out-of-state or private college.  Students participating in the program receive assistance with their educational planning, which in most cases, if they desire, prepares them to transfer within two years. For more information about UTRAC, click here.

bullet University Campus Tours: The transfer center plans several trips to selected universities. These tours are free to all students.  Transportation is provided to those students who are planning on transferring and would like to get a closer look at these selected universities.  Information about admission requirements, housing, career counseling and financial aid are given to students.  Visit the Career and Transfer Center for further details or view calendar of events.

bullet College to Career Fair: During the month of September, the Career Center holds their annual College to Career Fair.  Representatives from many colleges and local career businesses participate.  In addition, several workshops such as: choosing a major, career planning, transferring to UC and CSU systems, vocational careers, etc. are offered throughout the morning.

bullet University Travel Awards are available to students to visit four-year colleges other than those we visit on our tours. A stipend is awarded to students to help defray the cost of visiting four-year campuses that are out of our area. Visit our center for more information.

bullet On-the-Spot Admissions:  CSU Chico, Humboldt State University and CSU Sacramento offer on-the-spot admissions on our campus in October and November in preparation for enrollment for the following fall. No waiting until March to find out if you're admitted!

bullet Transfer Admission Guarantee Program:  Transfer Admission Agreements can be completed and sent to UC Davis, UC Riverside and UC Santa Cruz in August, one year prior to transfer.  Information sent includes transcripts, current and planned courses and some additional student information.   Students are notified if they are guaranteed admission to the university by the end of October, prior to completing the application in November.  Visit the Career and Transfer Center for assistance.
