College offers several nutrition courses, which are part of
various degrees and
certificate programs. Each course is designed to meet
the needs of a specific study area. One important key
to a healthy lifestyle is proper nutrition, knowledge of
which will enhance your life! These courses will
provide you with the opportunity to evaluate your own
dietary choices, identify and evaluate current trends and
"fads" in nutrition and much much more!
FSS 25
Nutrition focuses on the
science of food, the nutrients and other substances therein,
their actions, interactions and balance in relation to
health and disease. This class emphasizes the positive
contributions of nutrition to life and health. Now
also available online!
FSS 26
Nutrition through the Life
Span emphasizes the basic principles of nutrition as they
apply to different age groups, focusing on nutrient needs
during pregnancy, lactation, infancy, adolescence,
childhood, adulthood, and aging.
FSS 27
Nutrition and Disease is a
comprehensive study of the relationship between patient,
their diet and optimum health, stressing the dietary
modifications necessary due to specific physiological
conditions in the clinical setting. (This course
has a prerequisite: grade of C or higher in FSS 25).
