Center Fact Sheet
What is the University Center?
The University Center is a partnership between Shasta College and
several regional universities to bring four-year degree programs to
Shasta County. A new University Center building will be constructed on
the Shasta College campus. Once completed, the university programs will
be offered in the new building.
Which Universities are planning to offer
B.A./B.S. programs?
California State University, Chico
Oregon Institute of Technology
Southern Oregon University
When will classes begin?
Some programs will begin in Fall 2004, with more to be added in Fall
2005.
What majors are currently being proposed?
Fall 2004 - B.S. Dental Hygiene, Oregon Institute of Technology
Fall 2004 - B.S. Radiologic Science, Oregon Institute of Technology
Fall 2004 - M.B.A. Master’s in Business Administration (CSU Chico)
_______ - B.S. Business Administration
_______ - B.A./B.S. Human Services
_______ - B.A./B.S. Criminology
_______ - B.A. Liberal Studies (Elementary Teaching)
Will I pay out-of-state tuition for the
Oregon programs?
No, the partnership plan includes scheduling and agreements that will
allow students to pay lower fees.
What will the tuition and fees cost?
Students will pay the typical tuition and fees that a student would pay
attending those institutions on their campus. The Executive MBA program
is an exception. Students will have access to services through Shasta
College.
When will the University Center building
be completed?
Construction will begin in the summer of 2004, and the building is
currently scheduled for occupancy in the summer of 2006. Classes will be
held in other Shasta College classrooms until the building is completed.
