(3/7/03-Redding,
CA) On March 5, 2002, a bond measure was passed by the voters
that provides for funds to acquire property and construct a Shasta
College Health Sciences & University Center in the City of Redding.
As a result of a meeting on June 20 with the Site Selection Advisory
Committee for the Shasta College Health Sciences & University Center, and in an
effort to conduct a thorough examination of all potential sites, the
District will extend the timeline to August 15, 2002, for receiving
completed Request for Proposals (RFP). The purpose of the Request for
Proposals is to identify and acquire a suitable site for the Health Sciences & University Center. The RFP form is posted on the college’s web site at
this link, RFP-Health Sciences, under the President’s Corner, Bond
Update, or can be obtained by calling the Vice President for Student
Services and Cultural Diversity’s Office at
530-225-4707.
The District offers Cox Real Estate Consultants, Inc., at 245-4600 to
answer questions or assist potential applicants in preparation of their
proposal.
The next meeting of the Site Selection Advisory Committee for the Shasta
College Health Sciences & University Center will be Tuesday, September 3, 2002, at
the Shasta College Board Room. The meetings of the committee are open to
the public.
The Shasta College Governing Board will make the final site decision.
