Note: This class does not require any special software. Assignments include work outside class, with the use of a computer with standard browsers like Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.  Some computer access is provided on campus at the Math and Business Learning Center.
Class Hours: 18 lecture/9 lab total
Description: Introductory course to the Hypertext Markup Language for web page authoring, through lecture and hands-on classes. Topics include: HTML "TAG" structure and attributes. Basic <HTML>, <HEAD> and <BODY> components of a web document. Text formatting: color, font types, sizes, sunscripts and superscripts, underlining, special symbols, paragraph structure, text highlighting and hiding. Creating links, targeting to specific windows. Page layout: indents, background colors and images, line breaks, horizontal rules and text alignment. Creation and usage of images and animations, transparency effects. Scaling, aligning and embedding images. Using images as links. Creating and defining lists and nested lists. Creating tables, row and column structure, alignment and spanning in complex tables. Editing, saving and publishing web pages.
