Repaso para el Examen Pasos ABC

I. Comprensión auditiva

You will hear a paragraph including numbers in Spanish and you will need to write the numbers you hear on the line. Or you will have a picture and will have to answer questions about the picture, or write the command the picture represents.

For example, the teacher says: Mi hermana tiene diecinueve años. and you would write the number 19 on your exam. Or you will have a picture of students opening their books, and you would write Abran los libros next to that picture. You may also have to answer questions about pictures of people that the teacher will show you. For example, when asked, ¿Quién lleva una falda morada? you would write Dora lleva una falda morada on your exam after consulting the picture.

II. Lectura y escritura

Descriptions. Be able to describe people's physical and personality traits. When shown pictures you should be able to describe someone completely, talking about their height, hair length, special features and clothing.

Family tree. You will have a picture of a family tree and will need to answer questions identifying what the relationship is between different members of the family. Study all vocabulary related to families.

La clase. There will be a reading selection about a classroom and you will have to answer true/false questions about the classroom based on what you've read. Be sure you review all the vocabulary related to class.

You will need to fill in the blanks for incomplete paragraphs and dialogues, using all the verbs and vocabulary we have covered in Pasos ABC. For example, some excerpts from conversations might be like this:

¿Cómo __________ tu salón de clase? Mi salón de clase es ____________.

¿Cómo está tu compañero hoy? ___________ un poco cansado.

¿Cómo __________ tu profesor de español? Mi profesor ____________ alto.

¿Cuántos años tiene tu hermana? _____ hermana tiene 22 años.

¿Quién es la nieta de Dora? ____ nieta se llama Marisa.

Nationalities. Review the different nationalities and languages spoken around the world. You will be writing these items out based on the country given.

III. Composición

You will be asked to write descriptions of yourself and others. Be sure you know all the vocabulary in Pasos ABC and the meaning of all the different questions and statements listed in the vocabulary sections.
