The Shasta
College EOPS Summer Readiness Program (SRP) is a two-week scholastic residential
program designed to provide academic, social and personal development skills to
eligible students who are low income and educationally disadvantaged.
Who
can participate in the program
To participate, you must be:
• A resident of
California
• Eligible for a Board
of Governors Grant (BOGG)
•
A graduating high school
senior or junior who will be a senior next year or an adult who did not
graduate from high school or a college re-entry
student with less than 12 semester units of credits.
What does the EOPS Summer Readiness Program provide?
• Instruction to improve academic strengths and social skills
•
Techniques to improve
reading, writing, and study habits
Career and occupational
information
An all expense paid
two-week experience (dorms, field trips, meals).
SRP courses and workshops include:

Career Choice
•
Getting Connected: An
Orientation to College
•
Body Fitness Assessment
and Conditioning
• Computer Skills
Development
•
Geological Field Class
•
Cultural and/or Educational Activities
Upon successful completion of
the program, the student will earn 4.5 college units and 13.5 high
school credits!
