CARE Services
CARE is the acronym for Cooperative Agencies Resources
for Education.
CARE was established by the State's Chancellor's Office in 1982 as "a unique educational program geared toward the CalWORKS/TANF recipient who desires job-relevant education to break the
welfare dependency cycle." CARE is the
only state-funded program of its kind nationwide that provides services “over
and above” those of EOPS.
Students eligible for CARE receive services above and
beyond EOPS services.
CARE
services include but are not limited to:

CARE Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for CARE services you must meet all of the following:
1. Be
accepted into the EOPS program
2. Be
single head of household
3. Have a child under the age of 14
4. Be
currently receiving TANF/CalWORKS (cash aid)

How To Apply:
1. Fill out the EOPS/CARE
application available on the EOPS Home Page
or come by our office (campus center, room 2005) to fill one out.
2.
Provide verification of TANF/CalWORKs cash aid (i.e., current passport to services or current notice of action).
3.
Complete a Student Responsibility Contract
